Broken Column
23 iron sculptures, all 1.95 meters tall, have been placed in and around Stavanger's City Center. Some have been erected outdoors and some inside shops, schools and even a private home.

Beach Volleyball
In 2003, and for the fifth year in a row, Stavanger City had the pleasure of hosting a beach volleyball tournament in the city center. Tou Beer
Ringnes AS, which took over the production of bottled Tou beer, has decided to shut down its production in Stavanger leaving 107 people without a job. Bottled Tou beer was a local icon for Stavanger.
The beer was brewed for the first time in 1855 at Tau, just outside Stavanger. The brewery moved to Stavanger in 1901 and in 1974 production was moved to Forus, Stavanger.

Cars made in Stavanger
In the 1960's the company that is known for the "Resusci Anne", Lærdal Medical made furniture friendly toy cars from vinyl. More than 100 million toy cars were made at the factory in Stavanger, Norway.
The cars are still available today at tag sales, flea markets and you can even find some on eBay!.
35 differents types were made from sportsters to fire trucks. They varied in color; blue, green, orange, red and yellow.

Stavangerfjord
She was the queen of the Atlantic. Many an emigrant from Norway, Sweden, Denmark, England and Ireland travelled on the M/S Stavangerfjord to the US and Canada. The Stavangerfjord was built in 1918 at Birkenhead, England, but poor economic times hit her owner, The Norwegian American Line bad.
